Changing Tomorrow in Ecuador
An Astellas employee volunteered his time and talents to help out on a medical mission trip in a clinic nestled in the mountains of Quito, Ecuador. He was part of a 16-person team sent to provide basic medical care to the people of Quito. His primary responsibilities were to help fulfill prescriptions for the 1,200 patients they saw in just one week.
While most of the patients that he assisted required only basic medical care, on his second day at the clinic, he was called in to assist an emergency delivery by getting crucial supplies needed to help save the lives of both the mother and her baby. Due to his assistance, both mother and daughter are alive and well.
