Employee Hikes Grand Canyon

An Astellas employee hiked the Grandview Trail through the Grand Canyon in support of Leukemia and Lymphoma patient services, initiatives and education programs. Of the five million visitors to the Grand Canyon, less than one percent of them hike it and of those people, less than 500 ever hike the Grandview Trail. For the event, 120 hikers from all over the United States raised 1.2 million dollars.

Thanks to her supporters, the employee’s contribution was more than $4,500. She described her experience as, “beyond words for the awesome beauty, inspiration and motivational stories.” One t-shirt caught her eye that read, “My mommy’s hiking the Grand Canyon for ME!”
