Independent Medical Education and Charitable Donations
Astellas believes that by supporting high-quality, independent medical education, we help the medical community to improve the overall safety and quality of patient care and treatment. As a way to serve the community at large, we also provide charitable donations to various non-profit organizations. Communicating this educational and charitable support to the public is one of the many ways that Astellas demonstrates this commitment.
In 2010, we began posting information about independent medical education grants and charitable donations provided to organizations in the United States through the Astellas Grant Management System. We believe that through this transparency, we strengthen our value as a pharmaceutical company known for scientific knowledge, a high sense of ethics, and reliable, innovative medicines.

Astellas USA Foundation
The Astellas USA Foundation awards funding to qualified 501c(3) organizations in the United States whose request is aligned with our mission statement and falls within one or more of the following categories:
- Science Initiatives
The Astellas USA Foundation supports programs that foster scientific innovation and clinical research.
- Community-Aligned Grants
The Astellas USA Foundation provides community-aligned awards for projects that enhance the quality of life in communities where Astellas has a presence, with emphasis on science education, innovative programs, and youth development.
- Cultural Initiatives
In recognition of Astellas' heritage, the Astellas USA Foundation supports organizations that promote the arts or strengthen U.S. cultural, political, and social ties with Japan.
